Artist Luana Vecchio’s done a beautiful, stark takeon “The Waking,” a piece by Sir John Everett Millais. The deep contrast between the ink and the white space lends an incredible, foreboding quality to the drawing.

Donald started his blog in September, just in time to gear up for Inktober. He’s quickly become a prolific poster, sharing his portraits and fan art nearly every day. For Inktober, he’s posting portraits under the theme, “icons of the world.” His portrait of Maya Angelou deep in thought is quite lovely; the Angelou quote he’s shared is fitting inspiration for the final two weeks of Inktober: “If you’re always trying to be normal you will never know how amazing you can be.”

Toasted Pumpkin Seeds: Three Ways
Toasted pumpkin seeds are the tiny, edible trophies you get for carving pumpkins. Don’t carve a pumpkin (or any winter squash for that matter), without toasting or roasting the seeds. That’s just how it needs to be. The question is, what’s the best technique? There is some debate about the best approach, but I’ve settled on a foolproof method over the years. It’s super easy, and I’m going to share it here. Take note, there are a couple points of departure you’ll see in my technique (compared to most). First! Some people boil the pumpkin seeds prior to toasting. No need. Second, I now season and spice the pumpkin seeds after baking, and I’ll talk more about why.
Different pumpkins, different seeds: Pumpkins aren’t the only winter squash with seeds. And seeds from different squashes have different sizes, shapes and textures. Play around with white “ghost” pumpkins, blue Hokkaido, butternut squash, and all the other beautiful winter squash varietals out there for a range of seeds. Also, if you’re going to roast the squash as well, they’re often much better tasting versus carving pumpkins.
Different sizes of seeds: Smaller seeds roast more quickly, so adjust your baking time (less). Aside from that, treat them the same as you would regular “carving” pumpkin seeds. Pictured below (top to bottom): delicata squash seeds, butternut squash seeds, carving pumpkin seeds

DxOMark gives the LG G7 ThinQ just a touch better score than the LG V30
LG G7 ThinQ’s camera is just a tad better than last year’s V30 flagship phone from the company, according to DxOMark’s thorough testing. The handset got 83 points on the photo section and 79 on the video forming a total score of 83. That’s just one point ahead of the V30 and on par with Sony’s Xperia XZ Premium – an early 2017 flagship from the Japanese company.

At the heart of the city, two young professionals cohabit in a 140.5 square metre apartment, designed by Fungo Design. The modern interior is a vision of white, pale grey and subtly industrial style touches that give the place a cool edge without appearing like its trying too hard. Concrete feature walls span the open space, knocked back by fresh white storage furniture. Sweeping city panorama decorates one entire side of the apartment, negating the need for distractive room adornment. Occasional colour breaks into the simple scheme, including a wall of blue units, scattered green house plants and just a couple of reddish toned accent pieces to warm things through.

A spacious grey and white living room spans much of the interior space. On one side of the room there is an installation of storage units that form a blue feature wall. A grey modern sofa sits at the centre of the layout, which is teamed with a chunky concrete planter and a small side table for drinks.

Before and After: This $350 Kitchen Redo Is Filled with Smart Rental Tricks
